From Sleepless Nights to KiwiAI

October 2023.
2:57 AM.

The gears in my head are turning so loud, I’m convinced I’m about to wake my neighbors. I glance at the ceiling and then check the time on my phone for what feels like the hundredth time.

2:58 AM.

My stomach is churning and the nausea is hitting me in waves. Stress is nothing new, but this felt different.

A few days earlier, Sam Altman from OpenAI had dropped a nuclear bomb: they would be launching their own ChatGPT Store.

People could now create their own AI for anything and everything–branding, graphic design, web development. Suddenly, my studio felt like it could become obsolete in the blink of an eye.

As a founder, I’ve navigated competition before. It’s the game we’re in. But this? This was something else. We weren’t just competing with other studios anymore. We were up against.. robots?

How the hell do you compete with a robot?

I couldn’t shake the feeling that we just witnessed an absolute game changer. This wasn’t the iPhone, this was something different.

So, naturally, I stayed up.

And I kept staying up.

That’s the thing about nights like this–when the stakes feel higher, the pressure amps up. I started looking for the angle that would give us an in, but every answer I came up with felt too small.

I wasn’t looking for a Band-Aid solution. We needed a full-scale reinvention. The game was just disrupted and any company that wasn’t scrambling to adjust was falling behind quickly.

Then, at 3:20 AM, it hit me. It was obvious. In fact, it was so obvious it was kind of annoying.

We didn’t need to beat AI. We just needed to incorporate it.

That’s when Kiwi was born.

Kiwi stands for Kinetic Intelligence & Workflow Innovation. Basically what this means is, we bring your company to life.

Now, how do we do this?

Well, we begin by wrapping an AI model using the beautiful language Python, ensuring it integrates smoothly and scales as needed.

For the front end, we use React Native to create a sleek, responsive interface that works beautifully on both web and mobile platforms.

Once we have the model established, we begin training and configuring its systems to match our client's company based on internal metrics and their industry's data.

Doing this gives their company a brain, per se. Which puts them far ahead of the curve in their industry.

Their company can now streamline the launch process, receive design feedback, predict trends, spot market opportunities, and assist in business strategies.

Are there any market shifts to note for? Do you need feedback on a new design? Are you expanding into a new region?

Ask your company.

You see, that was the next thing. In the new world of automation, being able to talk to your company directly was naturally the next step.

Needless to say that the second I made that realization, I got to work. So, that was the catalyst for the pivot to Kiwi.

It was the result of looking around at the obvious changes occurring and adjusting accordingly. Because in this world, falling behind is almost certain death. The game is all about beating the pack. That’s why you have to constantly be thinking about how far ahead you can get.

And here’s the thing– our systems allow for us to stay ahead. Because they know what the next best decision is before we do.

That’s how you stop reacting and start owning the future. 🥝
